I wandered over to the area the cub had disappeared, which was right next to one of the dry ditches that run around and through the farm. I could hear movement in the ditch so lowered myself behind the long grass a little and waited for the cub to appear. What actually appeared was a badger! He repeated this three times, which is great news as this sett is only about forty metres from the hide. First Visitor of the Year.
Thursday, May 20, 2010. In our house we have been caring for chrysaliss inside our house because it is now to cold for them to hatch outside during winter. I have found butterflys with broken wings outside in the cold so we kept them inside. Some have turned black but have not hatched. we have had 2 hatch. This is a photo of the 2nd butterfly.
